Does anyone play ddo

Latest and greatest FPS with 12 generic character options? MOBAs overflowing with toxic 13yos? Unless you really, really care about graphics this game beats all the garbage coming out today.

None of the new stuff does it for me. I'll just stick to paradox grand strategy games and my non-gaming hobbies. Cause I haven't found a game that even comes close to the satisfaction that playing a DC caster does Everything I've found has one of the following problems. DDO has none of these to a serious extent.

Very common problem, you almost never get a proper spellbook, you just get the same number of abilities as other classes but they're "magic. At lvl X you get [Spell I. Nothing else happens that level. This is """"progression. You can do damage, you can CC, or you can heal. Don't ever think of doing two at once. Three is right out. This is a big point where I think DDO shines.

In many other games, freezing a mob for 1 sec counts as CC. In DDO you can completely lock down large numbers of enemies. And there's no obvious Big Red Button that does this all for you, it requires a ton of meta knowledge, quick thinking, and gear planning.

The difference between a decent CCer and a great one is massive, and I'm not talking about gear. Very fun thing to do tbh. Variety of caster classes, variety within classes, variety of spell schools. It hardly ends. There are also multiple Sagas, which are a chain of campaign quests that give a large reward when fulfilled. In addition, they can create and recruit into Guilds, which gives access to Guild Air Ships.

Game Data. You can complete most quests as a solo player, but you will be missing out on the excitement, hilarity, and friendships that develop from party adventuring.

Perhaps that is how they have grown such a strong following of MMO enthusiasts. Older gamers will rejoice when discovering Dungeons and Dragons Online. Younger gamers may not simply because they would rather play a good shooter. This game has a demanding community that polices the player chat and the game developers all at the same time.

It can take awhile for beginners to feel like they belong to this well-established gaming community and that can be frustrating, but those who put in an effort to join with other groups of players in guilds or other social activities will find a giant world with an unlimited number of paths to follow in search of fame and glory.

Hello Heather. I'm sorry to see that your in-game issue wasn't addressed in a timely manner. That is a very unusual issue and I'd guess the support person needed a more detailed description of what had occurred in that being stuck in the game usually refers to being stuck on a rock, in a crevice, etc.

I hope the issue was eventually resolved for you. Thank you for leaving your comment. I had been enjoying DDO. This is a great game, because it allows you to play alone or with others. However, be aware of what their customer service is like, even for a paid account. I have opted for a VIP account. I had had cause in the past to notice that the customer service is not good - areas for sale that weren't in the store, and such.

I hit a glitch in the game this week with a new character. It kept me from being able to leave Korthos. I have over a dozen characters, and had never encountered this. I placed a "stuck-in-game" ticket. I waited around for an hour for a GM to show up.

It was already 10 pm Germany time by then. This was on Dec 26th. I finally turned off the game. That meant I would have to file a new ticket. They expect you to stay staring at your monitor and periodically wiggling your mouse to keep from being thrown out of the game for inactivity until they deign to show-up. The one advantage this game world has over others of its kind is its size.

I'm nowhere near seeing all of it. Thank you for your comment. Items from the store can certainly make your adventures easier but I never felt like there was anything that I had to buy. If you are curious about DDO, I would say give it a go. For being a year-old game, it is still on par or better than many modern MMOs. Score 8. Share Tweet Reddit Email.
